A symbol of resilience witha design inspired by a coin with its roots in Ancient Akragas, this talisman depicts Akragas' emblematic crab with open claws, a symbol of the city's strength as a sea power and a Scylla swimming below. Scylla was a sea monster of Greek mythology described as having six heads with deadly, sharp teeth and was said to bark like a dog, with her loins girdled by the heads of dogs. This sea creature was one of the many hazards thought to haunt sailors on their journey to the city.
